This page holds all the latest downloads for my game
Fashion Police. In the game
you can vote on the outfits you like, this data then gets sent to my website so I can update the game to
reflect everyone's opinions on the game. Also, you can send me your photos to be used in the next
version of the game, check out the create your own page for more information on how to
contribute.
Click on the version you want below, download to your computer, then run the installer to unpack the files.
Although the game has been testing thoroughly, some bugs might get through. Please
contact me if you find any bugs, have suggestions or
any other feedback.
- For Windows a single ".exe" file has been created and can be installed via the downloads here. The game has been
tested on as many computers as possible (still not enough), but there could be some serious compatibility problems lurking around that I haven't been able
to test for. If you have any problems getting the game running on your computer, please let me know and I'll try and
work out how to fix the problem. Your patience and understanding in this are much appreciated.
- For Mac users, I'm having a few difficulties with finding computers to test it out on. I'm hopeful
that the best method is if you download the zip folder containing the ".app" file, and then drag and drop the ".app" file in your
applications directory. If that doesn't work for you, install the LÖVE engine for Mac
and download the ".love" file below. And if that doesn't work, please let me know what went wrong, with a screenshot
if possible and I'll attempt to fix it.
- For Linux users, you'll need to install the LÖVE engine for your operating system
and use the Mac/Linux ".love" file download.
To use the ".love" version of the game, you'll need to install the LÖVE engine. Also,
consider the following advice.
- Firstly, note that a ".love" file is really just a renamed ".zip" file. So, if you want to look at the source code
all you have to do is rename the end of the file (if in Windows you might need to allow this option in Windows Explorer),
and then you'll be able to look at all the files that make up the game. On a Mac you might not even need to rename the
file, it may just let you look at the code already.
- On Windows: From the LÖVE website you download the windows version as an
installer (.exe file). This will then install the engine in some folder, probably the Program Files/LOVE folder, on you
hard drive. Once you have downloaded the Windows ".love" file of the game (get latest version below), to run the
game you drag the "FashionPoliceGame_vx.x_Win.love" file across to the "love.exe" file in the Program Files/LOVE directory.
A new window should pop up and play the game for you.
- On Mac: From the LÖVE website you download a ".dmg" file and click to open the file. This mounts love.
I think you can mostly ignore this file.
Downloading the ".dmg" file simply tells your computer what to do with a ".love" file. So now, after you download
the "FashionPoliceGame_vx.x_MacLinux.love" file you should just be able to double click on it to start the game
running.
